Who: Ami
Where: The Bunker, Blaise-Daniel-Jon's room
When: Day 29, morning, after Who da Man?
Invited: Scott, Blaise, open
Status: Complete

The body belonged to a wanker whom on his best day made Ami want to make him among the first to be kicked off the island. The voice, too, was House's. The cane and the pale eyes, all of it belonged to Gregory House. Despite all of that, Ami knew that it was Scott – her husband, her lover, her everything. The touch of his hand, the tenderness in his eyes, the softening of features that probably found soft to be foreign all spoke to her of Scott.

Ami didn't need empathy or their link to recognize the other half of her. She missed it terribly, and staring into House/Scott's eyes, the hollow emptiness of what was missing – all those things that she took for granted and never realized – hit her like a sucker punch. Ami teetered between relief and hysterics for a long moment. Her feet propelled her toward him, her arms half-rising before she stopped herself from flinging her body into his arms.

"Of course we will," the slight rise in her (deeper) voice betrayed her wavering confidence in her words. Ami laced Blaise's larger fingers through House/Scott's not caring about propriety for the moment. "This island hasn't managed to defeat us yet."

(Unless you count holding us all prisoner.) Ami ruthlessly suppressed the paranoid thought.

She gave House/Scott's hand a squeeze. When he gave a wince, Ami grimaced and recoiled, stumbling over an apology as she attempted to pull her hand away. Surprisingly, House was obviously a bit stronger than he looked because Scott held on. "I'm sorry – I don't know – I'm stronger – I – you're stronger," Ami directed the last at Blaise.

"Yeah, I know," Blaise replied, not unkindly – but very matter of factly. However, Ami was a bit too startled to really focus on his tone. Startled not because Ami stood there watching herself talk, but because somehow hearing her voice without the accent was a bit unsettling.

She wondered – briefly – what Blaise made of staring at her in his body. (Or what he makes of my body. It's so quiet in his head. Like suddenly going blind and deaf. It's . . . lonely here.) The thought was both depressing and unsettling and Ami tried to push back the fear and anxiety they provoked.

"How – how are you?" Ami asked the soldier-in-her-body carefully. She indicated his/her head with a loose wave of her hand which seemed far too effeminate for Blaise's very muscled and masculine arm, wrist and fingers. "In there? Are you holding up all right, then? Is – is there anyone else?"

She didn't ask about Megabyte. Ami might not have her body, but evidently gut instinct was something that stuck with her. Megabyte would have come running or been harassing Blaise right and left, if he'd been able. That meant that something had happened to him as well.

Ami didn't point out Jon; he'd been skittish about his new abilities and they'd agreed to give him some space. She didn't know how much Daniel, Blaise or anyone else knew – or didn't know – about his abilities, and the day without memories was a blur. She'd leave it general unless Blaise remembered Jon's sudden disappearing acts and Doctor-induced-telepathic-headaches.

(All our secrets are out,) Ami realized abruptly. Strangely, it was comforting and not panic inducing.

"I'm--" (Fine? Not hardly.) "--as well as can be expected, I guess," Blaise said.

Now that he'd had time to think about it, he recognized that this situation wasn't entirely without precedent. He'd read the report of SG-1's experience with the mind transfer device created by Machello. In fact, the thought had practically popped into his head as if...

Blaise wondered if his eyes looked as wide as they suddenly felt. (...as if planted there by someone else.) Blaise closed his eyes and Listened. He could hear/feel House (greenery, deep breathing, several other people around him, and a blessed absence of pain). Daisy Adair was (secretly amused to see DI Gene Hunt horrified to find himself in a woman's body, a lactating mother's body no less).

He Listened harder. Jon. Blaise opened his eyes. Murphy? Jon Murphy was...one of them? Psychic? A telepath? Whatever they were.

"Blaise?"

Blaise opened his eyes to see Ami and Scott watching him closely. "I'm okay," Blaise said. "It's just a little...crowded." He gestured vaguely at his head. "In here. I can feel, or hear, or...sense Dr. House and Daisy Adair and, uh, Jon?"

Scott exchanged a look with Ami/Blaise before replying. She nodded, so he replied, "Yeah. Jon's a, uh, recent addition."

Then the rest of Blaise's words registered. "Daisy and Damon switched?" Scott almost snickered. Almost because of the hole in his mind where Ami should be. As amusing as aspects of the island's latest mindfuck were, no one was enjoying the body swapping. (Except for House,) he thought bitterly.

Scott caught's Blaise/Ami's eye. "Any idea where House is, and what he's doing to *my body*?"

Ami's too-large hand let go of his, then shifted to rub his back. Scott focused on the comfort of the gesture rather than how wrong it felt and probably looked. "And where the others are? If anyone's trying to return us to our proper bodies?"

"Yeah, Daisy and Damon have traded places. As for Doctor House, he is..." Blaise closed his eyes again, concentrating. "He was talking to Molly and River--no, to Molly in River's body. And...Sam Tyler in Ripley's body. Now he's heading back here."

Blaise opened his eyes again. "Jon...just told Daniel, Rose and the Doctor--who've switched--that Ash did this, somehow."

"Ash?" Ami demanded at the same time that Scott asked, "Who switched?"

"Yeah, Ash," Blaise said. He glanced at Ami, looking at his own face clouded with anger. "I don't know how Jon knows that."

"And Daniel and the Doctor have switched places," Blaise said to Scott.

"And Daniel and the Doctor have switched places," Blaise clarified.

Scott frowned thoughtfully. "And River and Molly, and Tyler and Ripley." He suppressed a shudder over how the latter pair were making out. "But not Rose, Jon, or Ash."

"To the best of my knowledge."

Ami's impatient sigh was more of a harumph coming from Blaise's body. "Bugger that. Blaise, would you take us to Ash? That wanker *will* undo whatever he did."

Blaise looked at Ami for a moment, then glanced down. Oh yeah. He--Ami--was dressed in a nightgown that didn't leave a lot to the imagination. Scott was a lucky fellow. Blaise looked up again.

"Uh--right," Blaise said. "Clothes."

He glanced around the room. His room, his clothes. Blaise took a step toward them, then hesitated. Did he want to dress in oversized clothes? But the alternative was "displaying" Ami again by walking back to her room in her nightgown.

Blaise settled for pulling out a pair of shorts and t-shirt. He turned to Ami and Scott and gave them a look. He didn't wait to see if they turned around or not. Off with the nightgown, on with the clothes.

With a belt pulled tight the shorts would stay on. The t-shirt hung on Ami's body like a sack, but at least she was covered, though the lack of a bra was unmistakable. Still, it was an improvement...presumably.

Blaise turned to Ami. "How's this?"

Normally Scott wouldn't have looked away when Ami undressed, but it was really Blaise undressing. Sort of.

"So messed up," he muttered.

Ami slid her (Blaise's) hand back into his (House's). "I know."

"How's this?" Ami's voice asked.

Scott looked up and immediately started chuckling. "Awful," he replied at the same time Ami said "Better." Then she elbowed him, which really hurt. "Ow!"

"Sorry!" Then Ami put on her determined look, which looked decidedly strange on Blaise's face. "Blimey, this is buggered up. Let's go." She slid one arm around Scott's borrowed torso and helped him limp out of the room. It was almost humiliating.

For a moment, Blaise was tempted to let them go on without him. No need to go out and face the assembled multitudes. He could claim he was trying to avoid "displaying" Ami any more than he already had. Yeah, that was it.

Then he sighed. No, that was a lie. He wasn't looking forward to the embarrassment. He'd never, ever live this down. But then, he was hardly alone--most of the crowd had been similarly afflicted, from what he'd seen and heard. Or picked up from Daisy, House and Jon.

Time to face the music. Blaise shook himself out of his funk, literally as well as figuratively--which produced some very interesting sensations. Having breasts was damned awkward. Fascinating too. He gave in to the temptation to explore them for a moment now that he was alone.

He'd had his hands on more than a few over the years, but experiencing the sensation from the other side was completely new. And pleasurable. Blaise felt his nipples respond to his touch.

Blaise dropped his hands guiltily. Ami wouldn't care for that if she knew. And neither would Lily, if she ever found out (though she'd probably laugh herself sick at the same time). Besides, he was deathly afraid that Daisy or Jon--or House, for god's sake--might somehow sense what he was doing. That wouldn't do at all!

He hurried after Scott and Ami and tried not to wonder about sex in a woman's body.

EXIT BLAISE

...and that's a wrap for this thread.

I'm going with the vague and admittedly unlikely explanation that Jon was in the canteen and somehow kept his mouth shut before running off to find Daniel *g*
