It had a spiral grip, a fat knob on the top, and two mottoes: "Sweet Reason" on the one side, and on the other, in teeny letters: "If you can read this, bright boy, you were standing too fucking close." He walked away from the fireside and swung it experimentally a few times. They'd have to stick it up in a tree for a week before it was properly dried, but they'd be practicing with bamboo anyway.
He headed over there, steeling himself for a teasing question or two. "Hey!" he called, waving and holding up the walking stick. "Excalibonk's done!"
