Scott's parents, Ami reflected, were far calmer than her mother would be under the same circumstances. Of course, she had to remember that his parents weren't exactly strangers to the odd and unusual; his father - who looked quite human - was an alien. She felt varying degrees of friendliness and curious uncertainity, but no untoward feelings of rejection which relaxed Ami a bit and made her feel considerably better. It was more than the island weirdness, and the suddenness of her relationship with Scott that she was worried there would be some issues with - but she hadn't wanted to put those fears into words. She was glad that she hadn't and that they were unfounded.

"It's a pleasure to meet both you," Ami said, her lingering nervousness betrayed by the way her accent grew more prominent. She leaned against Scott, tried hard not to stare too intently at his father (because that would be rude), and she did manage a smile at his mother's comment and the impish grin that she recognized as one of Scott's (so that's where he gets it from.)

"I do my best, but Scott's oft times a handful," Ami replied.
