[Ami] Letting It Loose (tag Scott, open)
Ami and Scott are coming from here.
Scott's words, meant to offer comfort, did very little in that vein. He didn't understand – he couldn't possibly understand – how her thoughts and feelings made her feel; how wrong she felt and how wrong it felt to think such things. She'd never in her life wished someone dead – other than Masters and Carlson – she hadn't even wished Richard dead for his part in that, but here she was, engineered right down to her DNA to be peaceful and she wanted to see Amanda punished.
She wanted the woman to suffer like George must have.
Everything was wrong. Right now, even Scott felt wrong to her, so cold and so detatched without the affection and warmth she was used to feeling from him.
This place was wrong. It and everything and everyone in it was screwed up and wouldn't it have been so much better if she'd just died in the crash? Then she wouldn't have to be here, dealing with blow after blow, crises after crises; plagued by monsters in the jungle and monsters on the beach. At least the ones in the jungle didn't pretend to be human, not like the ones on the beach.
None of it made sense. None of it was right and all of it was wrong. Hideously, horribly, terribly wrong. So wrong that she could feel it in her bones moving beneath the sand, trying to move into her body, into her blood and corrupt her.
It was all wrong.
A wind whipped up around her, blowing sand. Gently at first, then gaining strength and momentum, tiny clouds of dust billowing up around their feet, growing larger and larger, pulling driftwood and sea weed, rocks and stones, flinging them outward and spinning them upwards as the maelstrom of sand grew. Near and far, tent flaps and shelter flaps began to move and sway, stirring in the wind that came from every direction. Fruit floated into the air, tossed there and caught by unseen hands and the ground beneath their feet began to tremble ever so slightly.
[OOC: Yes, that is more than a wee bit of uncontrolled telekinesis. And any similarity to X3 is purely coincidental; Ami's ability, when unchecked like this is actually canon. At 14 or 15 she teleported two fellow Tomorrow People, the blanket they were lying on, shook the house to the foundations and did a lovely job of rearranging objects and furniture in the process.]

[Scott] Wandering (tag Ami, Kenzaki, open)
The Japanese man stepped into view soon afterwards, giving them a friendly wave. /Do you mind company?/ Scott asked Ami.
/That's fine. Might sleep, though./
Scott grinned at Her Sleepiness, then turned to Kenzaki. Kenzaki-san, join us if you like.
[Kenzaki] Wandering (tag Ami, Scott, open)
It was peaceful inside the cave, quite a difference from the havoc outside at the camp. Kenzaki could see why Sukotto-san had done what he had done in this place, and why Sukotto-san and Ami-san had taken refuge there.
Sukotto-san wasn't precisely normal, Kenzaki knew, but that was all right. Neither was he.
(OOC: Kenzaki almost intruded into one of Scott's calls home, which is what he references here.)
[Ami] Coming Back Slowly (tag Kenzaki, Rose, Scott, MB, open)
Ami slept on and off for a while longer. She heard Scott and Kenzaki, evidently doing a reciprocal Japanese/English lesson, but remained far too drained to even attempt to focus on attempting to learn what Kenzaki taught Scott. She awoke once to discover that Kenzaki was gone, there was food and water, and Scott was snoozing lightly beside her. Ami could only figure that Megabyte had made a delivery and then departed again.
She ate a bit, drank some and then snuggled back up against Scott, drifting off again nearly as soon as her head rested on his shoulder.
Later, she awoke again to find that Kenzaki had returned and the language lessons continued. She sat quietly, a bit more alert, and simply listened to the two men learning from and teaching one another. Still not focused though, Ami doubted that she picked up a single thing.
That was how Megabyte found them when he arrived with blankets, pillows and daypacks likely containing changes of clothes and toiletries. Even more pleasant was the fact that he had Rose in tow, and Ami's disposition brightened a little more at the arrival of her friend – and the fact that Megabyte had known whom on the beach would be a good cheering charm for Ami.
"Hi. Damon asked me to come on over. I'm sorry. I was kinda gettin' my own mind wrapped round things, and didn't realize how bad it had got for you. Some friend, huh?"
Sitting beside her, Rose took her hand and Ami felt the other woman's tiredness and chagrin. "I'm not much use right now, but I can be a friend."
Ami gave Rose's hand a squeeze and gave her a friendly, if somewhat tired smile. "All I need right now is a few good friends around me, and it looks like I have that. Thanks for coming." She chewed her lip thoughtfully and sighed, "I'm recovering. I always do, and don't beat yourself up over not knowing what was going on with me. I'm particularly good at hiding my pain."
"Ain't that the truth," Megabyte muttered, but not so quietly that Ami couldn't hear him.
"Anyway," Ami continued, "I'm glad you're here. I never did get to hear all the amazing details about the journey to the radio signal."
Ami figured it was one of the lighter topics they could discuss, particularly in light of the rumors regarding Rose's clothes and underwear.
[Rose] Coming Back Slowly (tag Kenzaki, Ami, Scott, MB, open)
"Oh yes. The joy. First day out was pretty boring. Just goin over the same route we'd taken to get here, anyhow. Until dark was commin, and we found Faith and Mara... or their puppy found us." Rose grinned and thn, with a more solumn face relayed Mara's reasonable reluctance to follow strangers into the forest she feared, and the varied reactions to the Tardis.
Rose continued to worry about Mara. If Ami had been damaged like this, then poor Mara... Ripley was right. The Doctor should have done something before now. And something was gonna have to be done before the girl could return, if she even wanted to. Reguardless, she needed help.
She related the whole tale of the journey, the geothermal area, and the dynamite. By the time she was done she needed some water.
She sipped some then remembered the hypo in her jeans pocket.
"Reminds me, the injection The Doctor gave Rodney, Tara and Sayid... I have one of them here." She handed the penlike hypo over to Ami to examine. "If you want, you can have a shot. Means no waterborn or foodborn diseases or biological contageons will affect you. Means you can drink the water anywhere for five years. Kinda important when you travel round the universe, and time... Ash is right bout the middle ages, sanitation was not in their language."
[Ami] Coming Back Slowly (tag Rose, Kenzaki, Scott, MB, open)
She held the hypo and examined it. Ami hesitated, but only for a moment. Megabyte knew about Scott's healing abilities, Rose knew he was half-alien, and Kenzaki didn't speak English particularly well. "I don't think that it should be wasted on me."
/Take it,/ Scott 'told' her firmly. He followed up with, "I won't need it, but thanks for the offer."
/What about you?/ Ami asked, 'voice' full of concern. /Don't you need it?/
/I'm pretty sure I can heal myself, but I'd feel better if you took it. Please?/
Considering the amount of worry she'd given Scott of late, Ami sighed and nodded. "On the other hand, better safe than sorry right?"

Thinking on that, Megabyte said, "Hey, Scott, I know that Jin's your friend. Thought you might want to know that he got hurt sometime today."
"What? What happened?" Megabyte couldn't figure out if Scott sounded panicked, disgusted, worried, tired or some combination of all of it.
"I don't know." His eyes flickered briefly to Ami. There was a good likelihood that Jin had been hit by something during Ami's telekinetic break down, but she had enough to worry about and he wasn't going to burden her with that knowledge. "Dr. Pierson patched him up as well as he could, I guess, and took him to the infirmary."
He didn't know if Scott would want to leave Ami just yet and sneak down to use his healing abilities on Jin, but he'd at least informed him of the situation so that Scott could make that decision.
[Scott] Choices (tag Rose, Kenzaki, MB, Ami, open)
Ami took his hand and squeezed it. /If you want to go, go. I'll be fine. You helped me through the worst of it./
Scott looked into her eyes and saw strength there. He smiled at her, then turned to Damon. "Is Jin stable? Will he make it through the night?"
"I don't know."
That was enough information for Scott to decide. "Okay. I'm going back to help Jin. The camp needs him to stay fed. While I'm there I'll ask Daniel who's moving to the caves and when. We need to know if any of the drama-prone or creeps like Ethan and Harry are planning to move there. If so, we need to find some other shelter."
Scott caught Kenzaki's eye. "Jin is hurt. I'm going to the camp to help him." Then he said to Rose and Damon in English and Kenzaki in Japanese, "Would one of you come with me, just to be on the safe side?"

Rose did that funny smile of hers showing the tip of her tongue. "'e's goin' with you, then?"
"Yes," Scott replied, then grinned at Ami. "Keep a close eye on her. She's nothing but trouble." After giving him a mock scowl, Ami kissed him goodbye. "Be back in a few hours."
OOC: Will start a new thread for Kenzaki's and Scott's hike back to camp.

[Rose] Choices (no tag)
Rose touched the pen to Ami's arm, and there was a pressure, and a feeling of icy cold. Rose grinned. "Better than a needly, yeah? Right through the skin. In ten minutes you'll be able to drink water right out of the river."
"As for run of the mill psychos, I've been takin' those defense classes with Blaise, an' Jack taught me a thing or two. So long as we aren't outnumbered, we're pretty safe, an you... can just pfft... for help."
