Blaise studied Dean and May, taken aback by their reactions. Sure, he'd expect any decent person to object to the kidnappings and more specifically to the kidnapping of a pregnant woman. But they both reacted very strongly, leading him to suspect a personal issue.

May confirmed his suspicion a moment later when she told the tale of her mother's difficult pregnancy. Blaise nodded.

"I think Molly summed it up pretty well. Whatever these people are up to, it can't be good. Which is why we're not going to let them keep the women a moment longer than we can manage."
