Faith led the short distance to the kitchen, and ducked inside with George and Isabel on her heels. Everyone was listening to Daniel -- or talking or asking questions -- so no one seemed to notice her immediately.
A shrill wolf whistle changed all that.
The room fell silent, every head swiveled in their direction. She could feel George alternating between glaring and cringing, and she figured Isabel had probably just gone scarlet. Whatever. At least they had everyone's attention.
"Yo, everybody, George brought home a stray," Faith announced. She jerked her thumb towards Isabel, "This is Isabel. She's just an ordinary girl who got washed overboard out at sea and wound up in our little island of tropical fun and sun. Isabel," Faith glanced over her shoulder and grinned at the newcomer, "This is everybody."
Her eyes moved around the room and Faith snorted, "And we are all starting to look like a bunch of extras from ER."
