Who: Dr. House
Where: Medical facility, OR/Lab
When: Day 23, afternoon, after The unpleasant announcement through early evening.
Invited: The Doctor, Blaise, McKay, Damon, Scott, open.
Status: Complete
While the exam rooms were divvied up, that is, one to the 'staff', one to the scientists, House (and Pierson) had insisted on retaining the OR/Medical lab. House had deigned to share the area with the others, though it was more accurate to refer to it as a suffrance. With McKay and the Doctor moved out, and the exam gurneys moved in, it was a great deal easier to centralize work.
The doctor trailed the parade of people, most getting out of his way, with Blaise carrying the stricken patient. The *taptap* of the cane, even at a more rapid rate than usual couldn't keep up with those unencumbered, and turning the corner into his 'own' room now, those in attendance surprised him... though only mildly.
"Put her down over there." The sentence was a command, though certainly unneccessary. House didn't miss a step over the threshold, and after he crossed the room, began to rapidly hook up the basic monitoring equipment he had available. Heart, mainly. Respiration, certainly, though in the form of how much oxygen was getting into the system.
ABCs, done. She's not 'not breathing', certainly. Heart rate is high... eyes... huh. He shined a bright light into her eyes, those flecks of gold taking his attention. He found himself staring, the penlight forgotten for a moment before he shook it off and dropped his hand. Not responding to stimuli, but she was responsive on the way. There was no question that there was some serious brain activity going on...
"Listen to me." She had the knowledge of where she was, or rather, that something was wrong... It hadn't passed note that she'd /said/ she needed a doctor. Granted, with her friend, it could very well have been 'the Doctor'. Well, now, she was stuck with him. So sorry.
Now, a doctor was in her face, very near. "What is your name?" Stupid sounding, yes... but necessary? Yes. Checking awareness, lucidity. Best to get the aid of the patient, certainly. Particularly in this case. "What happened?" Dizzy? "Where does it hurt" It's time to try to pinpoint, just in case it wasn't anything more exotic than a fainting spell....
