"So, how’s your girlfriend then?" the pointy-eared redhead asked. "Has to be doing okay or you wouldn’t be here."
Scott opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
/What's wrong?/ Ami asked.
/That depends on your definition of 'wrong.'/ Curiosity pulsed along his and Ami's link. /Either the Irish redhead forgot she has pointy ears, or they're not 'wrong' as far as she'd concerned./ The elf? Vulcan? arched an eyebrow, prompting Scott to say something. "Uh, yeah. She's doing better. Thanks."
Scott exchanged a puzzled look with no longer yellow-eyed guy and his friend (boyfriend?), then strode to the nearest cabinet. "I'll set the table, I guess." His curiosity warred with his unease over all of the weirdness. (What's next?)
He pulled down a stack of plates, then turned to find the pouty blonde with another pretty blonde. Pouty said, "And the cook is...uh...did we ever decide on a name for you?"
"T'Pau?" the shorter of the maybe-gay duo blurted.
All eyes turned to him, including Really Tall Guy's. "I don't know which is worse; that you're that much of a dork, or that I'm enough of one to get that."
