"This bunker?" Chloe asked, wondering if she looked as sheepish as she felt. It felt wrong--it felt embarrassing--not to have all the answers. Which was silly; they were lucky she'd written as much as she had. Nonetheless, it galled her that she couldn't answer all the questions.
"Not really. I know that several women in our camp--the camp on the shore--were kidnapped and brought here. Your...uh--Ami was one of them," Chloe said. What was their relationship, exactly? Her notes didn't say and she hadn't heard if they'd figured it out yet.
"Ah, anyway, a bunch of us tracked them here and rescued them--and took over the bunker while they were at it. That was a week or two ago. That's about all I wrote about it. Apparently I stayed at the beach until just a couple of days ago--at least, that's how it looks from my notes."
Chloe shrugged and glanced at her tanned arms. "I guess I prefer sunbathing to air conditioning."
