[Scott] Fire alert and medical

"Uh, guys? Armory here." The unusually mature and sardonic teenager Jon stood half in the doorway. An enormous rifle of some sort was propped casually on his shoulder with the barrel pointing at the ceiling. "If you know what you're doing with firearms, I'd grab one."

Ami paled a bit and shook her head vehemently. Scott frowned at her reaction but didn't ask. Through their link he knew that she was as puzzled as he. "No, thanks," Scott replied. Although the sight of guns didn't disturb him, the array of them hadn't sparked any sense of familiarity.

Scott and Ami caught up with the other would be rescuers in the cafeteria. Locke announced that he'd guard the entrance, and relayed "the Doctor's" order to bring water. (Bring water? That's ridiculous. It's too heavy. The few gallons we could carry wouldn't do squat against a burning aircraft.)

The pleasant almost-tingle of Ami slipping her hand in his immediately gained Scott's attention. /If we do need water for firefighting, perhaps I could teleport some from here to there./ A curious mixture of excitement and chagrin accompanied the thought.

/Perhaps,/ Scott grinned, then kissed her on impulse. /Let's see what the situation is./

Without containers of water slowing them down Ami and Scott arrived at the crash site before the others. Finding it was simple: wade through the jungle toward the black plume of smoke. To Scott's relief no giant rats or anything else rushed he and Ami. He kept his silver sphere closed in his fist just in case.

The pair stepped into the ragged clearing as the Doctor neared the burning... "SPACESHIP?!" Scott blurted. Ami shrugged, then looked surprised at not being surprised.

The Doctor shouting something in a foreign language into the wreckage distracted Scott. "He told them not to move," Ami translated.

Scott frowned. /What language.../ Then he remembered Ami's ability to speak/not speak Japanese from the morning. /Never mind./ He nodded at the ruined *ship*. "Them?"

Ami nodded. "There are two people in there."

Scott swept his eyes over the scene, trying to figure out the best course of action. None of the trees or underbrush had caught fire yet, so he looked for the highest flames. After stuffing his sphere in his pocket Scott tugged Ami toward the fire raging at one end of the twisted mass.

/What are you--/

Scott stopped when the heat was almost painful -- about 10 feet away. While ripping up plants by the roots he explained, /We'll treat it like a giant campfire; smother it./ He scooped up a double handful of damp black earth and hurled it at the fire. There was no discernible effect -- yet. "You clear the ground and I'll dig." They did just that.
