[Daisy] I Hate This Island

The crying of a baby woke Daisy. She spent a sleepy moment grumbling at the inconsiderate behavior of the parents--then opened her eyes as context slammed back into her awareness. She remembered who she was, where she was. She remembered baby Aaron. She remembered that baby Aaron slept with his mother and his doting would-be dad in another room.

Daisy sat up, uncomfortable, frightened and furiously unhappy--no, that wasn't her. That was Aaron. The baby was uncomfortable and alarmed, and crying because of it. She could feel his emotions like they were her own. It was strange, unprecedented and...uncomfortable.

She could also feel...Gregory House? He was--jogging? Reveling in the feel of a pain-free, healthy body? Daisy got fragmentary glimpses of green foliage, warm humid air.... He seemed inordinately pleased with himself, feeling that he'd gotten the better end of the body swap.

(Body swap?) Daisy looked around the room. Aaron lay in his crib, crying. Claire remained dead to the world, surprisingly. Daisy would have thought she'd be more attuned to her child's cries. Daisy herself was stretched out on a couch.

But it wasn't her own body Daisy saw when she looked down. No breasts, no slender figure. A broad chest, stocky build and hairy legs. Daisy sat up, fighting a sudden surge of adrenaline that left her gasping for air. Masculine hands and arms, short hair. She looked around for the nearest reflective surface and found Damon looking back at her.

Then, in the ringing silence of shock, Daisy heard Blaise, clear as a bell, his voice coming from inside her head saying, "Nothing's wrong. I just got a big dose of--of Daisy. She's...swapped places with Damon, I guess."

Aaron's cries redoubled, reaching a piercing pitch, and Daisy knew--knew somehow--that her own shock and alarm had set him off anew.
