Jon looked at the bear, the rope and then up at the trees. That animal weighed at least 500lb..
"Hey Locke," he called out, eyeing up the distance from ground to the largest palm's lowest branches. "Do you have an end spare?"
"Excuse me?"
He shrugged as nonchalantly as he could. "Ok, so it may be a stupid idea but that's a heavy lump of meat we're planning to reel up there. It might be worth testing the strength of the branches with a bit of our own body weight before spending time on all those knots."
