The thing that amazed Ami time and time again about being with Scott was how free she was when she was with him. She was free to be herself, no pretending, no walls, no shields, no boundaries. He knew who she was and what she was and Scott was fine with that, amazed and intrigued by it even. There was an intoxicating lightness to that type of freedom, a blissful feeling that transcended the ability to be put into words.

Maybe it was foolish romanticism, but she truly believed that Scott was hers.
Making love wasn't only about physical gratification, but there was a deeper joining there, a mental connection that two people could not have made if they were not telepathic.
