He raised the big walking stick he was carrying. "I'm going to follow those two," he said. "You've got the BFG-9000 there. If you have to use it, we'll hear--and I'll come running. In the mean time, I may be able to help out there."
Blaise clearly didn't like the idea, but he didn't argue. "Just be careful," he said. "And if it turns out to be nothing, be sure to send someone back this way to let us know."
"Sure," Ash said gruffly. They both knew the chances of it being 'nothing' were slim to none. That just wasn't how life was on the island.
Ash took off down the path, watching for trouble as he went.
