Over Hill, over Dale.. (overland crew)

The Doctor had converted Blaise and Daniel's communicaters. They looked a bit silly, but they worked.

The Doctor kept Blaise's, as he couldn't speak Aramaic so that simple code excluded the marine.

The Doctor saw Chris take Jack to the camp he was to help guard, and waited for the young man’s return to be sure the trip went well, then he took off in the direction Damon and Scott had marked on a crude map.

At six foot two the Doctor had long strides, and found himself cutting back just a bit, because losing his volunteers would not help the mission.

They didn’t follow a trail, except the one he broke in as they shoved through underbrush and grasses. If it weren’t for the rough map and the occasional sight of the far off whisp of smoke, getting lost would seem an easy thing.

They ate up ground at a stride that had most of them getting a stitch in their sides and a burn in their lungs long before the first ‘break’. It had been hours of walking over uneven ground, through brush and trees and pressed upon by tropical heat. The water was a godsend. The terrain would have been beautiful if they were able to pause and appreciate it.

[Scott] Getting off the angst train (open tag)

Scott had snapped his mental shields in place after Blaise mentioned that Claire was very, very pregnant. It was instinct after the red-hot flare of outrage and indignation from the three newcomers. The news clearly affected them on an emotional level. Although he wished that they hadn't suffered through something similar, it motivated them even further. Considering they were woefully ignorant about the kidnappers, the group needed all of the motivation they could get.

After the emotional storm subsided, Scott closed his eyes and leaned back against the tree. The others were right; he wasn't up to this, but he didn't have a choice. He and Damon were the only ones who could locate the women. That, and every minute that Ami, Rose, Daisy, and Claire were held captive was a minute too long.

(Ami.)

Scott almost connected with his sphere to try to reach her. He didn't because he needed to conserve his energy to maintain the Doctor's pace. He'd already used some to partially heal tired muscles that were ready to cramp. If someone was seriously injured, he wouldn't be able to keep going after healing them.

To distract himself from his worries, Scott concentrated on the shadow of his awareness of Ami. Without expending any extra energy he directed love and reassurance to her. The shadow drank it in. /Hold on, love. I'm coming./

There was no reply.

[Jon] Getting back on track (open tag)

As the Doctor indicated that they should start up again, Jon nudged Scott carefully. He was walking directly behind the guy for a reason and true to form the words "I'm fine" didn't equate with "I'm capable of a route march," but determination went a long way. Hopefully far enough.

"Hey, kid - time to get moving again."

He watched, then waved as Scott came out of his meditative stillness. The blink against sunlight was noticeable and deserved a grin, but the tiredness around those eyes was unmistakable. Hopefully the nap had done him some good though - it had certainly been deep enough for Jon to "borrow" a couple of bottles of water from his bag in any case. What was a little weight between random acquaintances who happened to be in the same plane crash, after all.

Jon handed him the bag with a slight smirk, then pointed towards the smoke. "Onwards and upwards."

[Scott] Getting back on track (tag Molly, Jon, open)

OOC: Thanks! Scott needs all the help he can get. :)

Scott was still trying to figure out why Jon had called him "kid" when Molly laid one hand on his shoulder. What he felt made him freeze in place.

A pulse of energy surged from Molly's heart, down her arm, and into him. It felt like a rushing mountain stream, cool and refreshing. Scott could practically hear the water gurgling and swirling, and smell the wildflowers in bloom.

(Wait. I *do* smell wildflowers. Honeysuckle.)

"Kid. You need a hand up?"

Scott blinked at Jon's question. "Uh, no. I'm good." He got to his feet and shouldered his pack, which felt considerably lighter. He felt as if he'd gotten another good night's sleep. "Do you smell honeysuckle?"

Jon gave him a skeptical frown. "Just jungle, jungle, and more jungle. Let's get a move on." He motioned toward the Doctor, who was already pressing on.

Scott nodded and followed after the Doctor, passing Molly on the way. Mischief and delight twinkled in her eyes. "Thank you," he said quietly. He was dying to know what she'd done, but now wasn't the time to ask.
