The Doctor had converted Blaise and Daniel's communicaters. They looked a bit silly, but they worked.
The Doctor kept Blaise's, as he couldn't speak Aramaic so that simple code excluded the marine.
The Doctor saw Chris take Jack to the camp he was to help guard, and waited for the young man’s return to be sure the trip went well, then he took off in the direction Damon and Scott had marked on a crude map.
At six foot two the Doctor had long strides, and found himself cutting back just a bit, because losing his volunteers would not help the mission.
They didn’t follow a trail, except the one he broke in as they shoved through underbrush and grasses. If it weren’t for the rough map and the occasional sight of the far off whisp of smoke, getting lost would seem an easy thing.
They ate up ground at a stride that had most of them getting a stitch in their sides and a burn in their lungs long before the first ‘break’. It had been hours of walking over uneven ground, through brush and trees and pressed upon by tropical heat. The water was a godsend. The terrain would have been beautiful if they were able to pause and appreciate it.
Re: [Jon] Getting back on track (open tag)
Date: 2006-08-03 09:56 pm (UTC)In doing so she tried to do with Scott what she had done with Tara. With Tara, it had been the magic that was part of Molly that she used to push energy into the magicly depleated witch. But Scott wasn't exhausted by magic. So she had no real idea if it would work.
Molly pushed some of her own energy twords Scott, tried to feed it to him.
Having very little in the way of magical talent, but a powerful magic nature had found Molly lending energy to mages and spellcasters before. It was something she could do besides feel useless.
But it required physical contact.
(OOC: if you want Scott to recieve the energy boost or not is up to you. If he does Molly will be a bit more tired, not enough to lag behind, though. And the energy will feel tingly, fresh and rejuvenating. He'll also smell wildflowers, though noone else will)
[Scott] Getting back on track (tag Molly, Jon, open)
Date: 2006-08-04 12:23 pm (UTC)Scott was still trying to figure out why Jon had called him "kid" when Molly laid one hand on his shoulder. What he felt made him freeze in place.
A pulse of energy surged from Molly's heart, down her arm, and into him. It felt like a rushing mountain stream, cool and refreshing. Scott could practically hear the water gurgling and swirling, and smell the wildflowers in bloom.
(Wait. I *do* smell wildflowers. Honeysuckle.)
"Kid. You need a hand up?"
Scott blinked at Jon's question. "Uh, no. I'm good." He got to his feet and shouldered his pack, which felt considerably lighter. He felt as if he'd gotten another good night's sleep. "Do you smell honeysuckle?"
Jon gave him a skeptical frown. "Just jungle, jungle, and more jungle. Let's get a move on." He motioned toward the Doctor, who was already pressing on.
Scott nodded and followed after the Doctor, passing Molly on the way. Mischief and delight twinkled in her eyes. "Thank you," he said quietly. He was dying to know what she'd done, but now wasn't the time to ask.
