With that Ami was bodily hauled out of the room. She struggled uselessly as she sought to figure out why Sakai would give her something that would increase her abilities. Didn't the woman realize that would aid her in contacting Scott and Megabyte? That it might even boost her teleportative range?
Ami barely noticed her surroundings or that her struggles were ceasing as she thought up and discarded scenarios. She didn't feel any different yet, no stronger or weaker, but of course the injection had been muscular and venous so perhaps it hadn't acted yet. She was abruptly pulled from her thoughts as they exited through a large door with an alarm panel; exit was gained by Dr. Sakai placing her hand on a bio reader and receiving a retinal scan. The corridor in which Ami had been a prisoner was left behind.
They walked a bit, and stopped in front of a door. Again, a bio-reader scanned Sakai's hand before she swung the door inward.
It was a day for surprises.
"Daisy!" Ami cried out, elated to see that the woman was alive. Had Rose been wrong? Had they played a dastardly trick on her friend? Even Ethan had insisted that Daisy was dead, a "useful object lesson" for Rose.
"Ami?" Daisy didn't look happy to see her. In fact, Daisy slid back a bit on the bed.
"What's going on?" Ami demanded. "Ethan said she was dead. They said you were dead." Ami said the last to Daisy, before turning to Sakai again. "I won't do it. I won't do to her what you wanted me to do to Boone. I won't."
"Of course you won't," Sakai remarked. "That's not why you're here. And for the record, your friend was dead. Very dead. Miss Adair has remarkable healing abilities." As she talked, Sakai crossed the room to Daisy's bed.
"Dr. Sakai, what are you doing with my patient?" Another form filed into the room, a man that Ami had not seen before.
"I thought that Miss Jackson needed a bit of an object lesson, Dr. Wilson, and it seems to me that I'm just in time for your . . . demonstration?"
