[Alex] That Was Cool (no tag yet)

OOC: I patched it. I think.

Alex watched it all in awe. This was what Dharma was afraid of; this is what they wanted to learn from, to mimic, to control for "the greater good." She may be naive, but Alex knew that Dharma's idea of the greater good had been seriously corrupted and compromised . . . what was that saying about absolute power?

She didn't need to be a genius, medically educated or psychic to know that Molly, Damon and Tara were exhausted - physically, psychically and magically wherever applicable.

After paging Daisy for John, she was surprised to see that Damon was actually hauling himself to his feet. Slowly and somewhat painfully, but he was doing it.

"You should rest!" Alex exclaimed.

He muttered something very uncharitable things about witches and magic and bossy teenagers as he literally dragged himself to the console; Alex was reasonably certain that it was only the tiredness and pain talking.

"Damon, I don't think you should –"

Damon shook his head and winced, cutting Locke off. He blinked a few times and focused on the console. "I have to make sure we have control. We can't have -- Dharma, whoever the hell they are, taking control and blinding us or locking us in."

It sounded to Alex like even saying those words tired him out.

Alex stepped up beside him and activated the PA system as the lights came up again. The rudimentary control wasn't tied into anything else -- she didn't think -- and she could make a quick announcement.

"Um, hello?" The feedback made her jump back, a full body blush coming on. Damon winced, holding his ears, John frowned and Molly and Tara both moaned in their sleeping state.

"Sorry, sorry," Alex apologized.

"What are you doing?!" Damon demanded. His voice was gruff; she tried not to take offense at it. He'd feel better -- and be nicer -- after he rested . . .and saw his friends. Maybe not in that order.

"Getting help," Alex explained. This time there was no feedback when she keyed the microphone. "Hey, that was um, us. Well, it was Tara and Molly and Damon. Tara's unconscious now, and Molly and Damon probably need a bed too. . . but, um, not together."

"Thank you, Alex." Damon was leaning over the console, typing slowly and wincing more often than not. "But what I really need is to establish control. Except, I fucking can't." Damon growled and pounded a fist on the console.

Alex jumped.

"Damon -"

"Don't," Damon hissed. "This has to be done. Except I can barely touch my abilities without feeling like someone poured lemon juice on a paper cut. So, please don't tell me to calm down or relax. If they can take this place over or spy on us, then all this has been pointless."
