This was one of the ones whose file Alex had access to. Well, Alex didn't have access, Reenie did, but breaking Reenie's encryptions and passwords had always been a fairly easy task. The only person less of a challenge was Ethan, but after getting into his database and logs a few time, Alex decided that he was so slimey and dirty that she just didn't want to go there anymore.

Reenie, like all of DHARMA, didn't have access to everything. Carlson was big on "need to know," and he decided who needed to know. Sometimes Alex was fairly certain that even he didn't know everything and that doling out in bits and dribs was his own way of feeling special and maintaining power.

While Alex truly didn't know everything about everyone in the facility right now, she knew about this one. Reenie's specialty was DNA, taking it apart, rewriting it, unraveling it and making it better. Psychic ability, self-healing, longetivity, all of it was coded in the DNA. Reenie had wanted samples from this one, but Carlson deemed him too dangerous and not worth the risk to the Life Extension Program to even try and bring him in.

Alex didn't know everything about him, but she wondered if Carlson was right. A lot of people around here were listed as dangerous -- and they were.

Eventually, she'd be called in to ask the important questions. She wouldn't mind so much if it were only about the others, but not about Reenie. She'd hand them DHARMA on a platter, but not Reenie. Never Reenie.

Before Dr. Pierson, who really wasn't a licensed doctor right now, but she'd heard he was nicer than House, appeared Alex had been hoping that she would be temporarily forgotten about and could hide out for a while.

(No such luck.)

From where she sat, moving the slowly cooling eggs on her plate, Alex shook her head. "I don't need one, but if Daniel thinks I should have one then I'll do it." She tilted her head and studied the young man on the floor, and said in Japanese, "Dr. Pierson would like to know if you're in need of a checkup."

She felt surprise from both of them. Kenzaki's eyes widened.

"Was that right? Did I say it properly? I've learned Japanese, but I've never had a real live person to practice on before."
