"Process almost complete. This physical form cannot tolerate much more without a period of adjustment. We will be what we need to be." There was a distance to her tone. She reached out and took Scott's wrist.
For a moment he could sense, time itself. It wasn't painful so much as shocking. A awareness that most minds were not meant to have. But some sort of adjustment was made, and that awareness faded in nanoseconds. "Nature abhors a vacuum. So does time. The laws of time cannot be broken, only bent. Causality Theorem. They will understand in the order of things. Bad Wolf is not one, but two merged to form a third under common purpose. But the third makes decisions the two do not concur or consent to. The Process was started by accident, but continues through intent. Accident, but always meant to be. The Wolf cannot be held to heel. He cannot hear you. Shields himself always, heart, soul and mind. She has slipped through the first two, which is why she was chosen by time itself.”
