Fortunately May accepted Locke's rationale for executing the Wraith. In some ways he envied her idealism. In his fifty-odd years he'd learned that life wasn't fair and death was cheap. It truly was survival of the fittest on the island.
McKay rather obviously had little survival skills to speak of. Locke and May easily followed his irate voice to his and his friend's location. Deliberately making noise as he approached, he called, "Dr. McKay, we need to regroup. This way."
