Who: Veronica
Where: Stumbling upon the bunker
When: After the amnesia hits
Invited: Anyone!
Status: Complete
When Veronica left the beach to head to the bunker, she knew who she was. On her way there however, things got hazy, and then all of a sudden like magic she had no idea whatsoever who she was or what she was doing. She also didn’t know where she was going or where she came from. This was a terrible feeling for the teenager, who felt pretty helpless at this turn of events. She knew things, like she knew who the first president was, and how many things were in a Baker’s Dozen, but she didn’t know who she was, and that was terrifying.
When it hit her, she felt dizzy and weird. She had no clue what was going on. It was a horrible thing to not know who you were, and to just have everything in your mind be completely blank.
Who am I? Where did I come from? Am I dead? Maybe this is my coping mechanism… That might make sense, right?
It occurred to her, while she was walking, that it just might be a good idea to check her pockets, so she took a moment to sit down and breathe. She pulled out a wallet and inside were several pictures of people, and she was in some of them, but she didn’t know who the other people were. She also noticed that she had several IDs. Most of them bore the name Veronica Mars, one of them was for a 17 year old Veronica Mars, one for a 22 year old Veronica Mars, and one for a 24 year old Veronica Mars. There were a couple others with different names on them, which was greatly confusing to the already horribly confused girl.
What the hell kind of name is Veronica Mars? That must be fake.
For now she had to go by something, and judging by these IDs, Veronica seemed to be the best bet. But how old was she? She certainly didn’t think that she was 22 or 24, so that probably meant that she was 17. She looked at some of the pictures, flipping them over to see if names meant anything. Only one picture had writing on the back of it, and it was one of her and some other taller blonde girl. It said.
Lilly and Veronica, ages 16 and 15
Who was this Lilly? Was she Veronica’s sister? Veronica didn’t know why but looking at this picture of Lilly and herself made her very said.
Frustrated, she put everything back in her wallet, tucking it away, while playing with the star necklace around her neck. She didn’t know what it meant, but it seemed like it was important to her somehow. She continued walking until she was nearly exhausted and had reached some kind of…bunker.

[Veronica]
Date: 2007-02-27 01:07 am (UTC)She listened to what the people were saying. Was it a little crowded in here? Did that even matter right now? She was making a lot of observations, but not saying a lot. Maybe she wasn’t much of a talker, not like Molly here seemed to be.
Everyone seemed pretty nice, but Veronica still didn’t feel at ease. This entire situation was strange and hokey, like someone was putting on a matinee show and they were the puppets. If that were the case she’d like to find out who the hell was holding the strings and say a thing or two.
But this is real life…not a puppet show.
She sighed. This whole thing was awkward and it didn’t make sense. How in the hell could a bunch of people just forget who they were?
Her mind kept flashing to the girl in the photo. Lilly. She didn’t know why, maybe the girl had been important to her once upon a time.
“So no one has any idea how they got here or where here even is? That’s just…perfect.”
[Gene]
Date: 2007-02-27 05:04 pm (UTC)Getting out of the kitchen had never looked so good, but he wasn't running. Definitely not. Just the hangover making him feel like crap in close quarters, that's all. Nothing else.
Hunt tore his eyes away from Molly and her.. ears.. focusing on blonde bimbo number 467 in place of those.. ears.
"Does this brave new world involve churning you lot out like peas in a bloody pod or what?"
"Excuse me?"
"Never mind." He smiled at the new girl instead, though it wasn't really a smile with those ears watching him. "Yes love, perfect. With a 99 Flake. Try not to get those knickers in a twist, eh?"
At last: back in the main cafeteria. Away from the ears. Something about the way those kids were setting the tables tickled his non-existent memory so he grabbed on it, anxious for something other than ears which scared the bloody shite out of him for no logical reason. The layout of cutlery and furniture made him think of eating, yes, but it was so much more familiar than that space age kitchen that he felt a lot calmer already.
Gene cast a glance back at the pointy ears and froze. So blatant, they were, standing up against that bright red hair. Not normal and.. terrifying.
He shuddered and sat down hard, nearly breaking a plastic chair in the process. This didn't make any fucking sense at all. 30 years in the future with global amnesia and frightened of some slip of a girl because she had pointy ears? The rational side of his brain tried asking useful questions like what the fuck was a pair of ears going to do to him, while the other wanted to focus on anything other than Molly. Not even the bloody albino made him feel this nervous, and he still had no fucking idea why!
The table top became a source of great fascination.
[George/"Millie"]
Date: 2007-02-28 08:00 am (UTC)Millie watched the Detective Inspector retreat to the seating area and give a great deal of attention to the table in front of him. (Huh. Wonder what's got him so spooked.)
Then she shrugged. Whatever it was, at least had put an end to his griping for the time being. Millie glanced at Veronica again. "I guess we're on clean up detail if we wanna eat. So--you see anything besides jungle outside?"
[Scott, Sam, Dean]
Date: 2007-02-28 01:00 pm (UTC)Scott listened to the other blonde's reply, occasionally glancing at Hunt. He'd felt the Brit's anxiety loud and clear. It had begun when Molly tucked her hair behind her pointed ear. The big man was now studying a tabletop. (Cowed by pointed ears. Now *that's* weird.)
Molly, ironically, seemed oblivious to the cause of Hunt's retreat. "Come 'n get it!" she announced, pulling pans full of an eggy casserole from the oven.
Scott grabbed two plates, then joined the quickly forming line behind Really Tall Guy and the Flirt. The pair drained the last of their beers from the DHARMA-labelled cans. "Hungry?" the Flirt asked.
"Yes. And so is Ami."
Flirt and Really Tall Guy nodded.
By the time Scott got to the head of the line about of the breakfast casseroles were gone, and that was with everyone taking modest portions. He took a single scoop of the "everything" casserole for himself. Erring on the side of caution, he spooned some of the plain casserole on the other plate for Ami.
Although he'd rather head back to the room to check on Ami, Scott took a seat with the others. He sat opposite the pretty albino and beside the lithe brunette. Silence fell as everyone dug in.
OOC: My muse also fell silent right here. Sorry! At least I positioned Scott near Oona and Alia. They've been pretty quiet.
[Mayday]
Date: 2007-02-28 07:45 pm (UTC)May had broken off the conversation with the two Japanese guys when Molly finished breakfast, immediately jumping up to help set up and find plates and silverware. She felt for some reason that she should have been more helpful with the cooking. But even more so, she felt ravenous.
Still, she restrained herself enough to take one scoop, making a mental note about kitchen inventory. She took the smallest bites possible, trying to eat as slowly as possible to quell the bottomless pit of her stomach. It helped, a little, but only slightly.
So when (cousin?) Scott sat down, she welcomed the distraction from her hunger. "Hey. How's Ami doing?"
[Scott, Dean, Sam]
Date: 2007-02-28 10:21 pm (UTC)"Hey. How's Ami doing?" she asked.
Once he'd swallowed Scott gave her a grin. "Better now. She slept for a while after... whoever did whatever."
"It was the British guy with the big ears," Really Tall Guy volunteered.
Protective anger welled in Scott. He held in it check since he didn't have the whole story. "How do you know? What else did he do?"
"Nuthin'," the Flirt said around a mouthful of eggs. Thankfully he swallowed before continuing. "He apologized, actually. Said that he was just tryin' a mental shout-out."
Scott snorted. "I'd say it worked."
Really Tall Guy frowned at Scott thoughtfully. "So you and Ami are telepathic?"
"Uh..." Despite all of the assorted strangeness Scott wanted to deny it. After his, Ami's, and the others' obvious reaction to Big Ears' "shout-out," denial was out of the question. "Yeah." He almost volunteered that he hadn't heard Big Ears or the other telepaths Ami did, but decided against it. No one here needed to know the details.
Hunt looked up from his plate for the first time since he'd sat down. "But you didn't pass out. Your bird an' the other weirdos did. Why's that, then?"
Scott and several others at the table bristled at the word "weirdos." Nevertheless he held his tongue, only scowling at the insufferable Brit. As he racked his brain for a plausible-sounding reason -- ('Cause explaining our link? Not going to happen.) -- Ami's mental presence grew stronger. Frowning, Scott concentrated on it, instinctively turning in her direction.
A moment after his eyes had moved to the cafeteria entrance Ami strode through. Although she still looked tired, Scott's entire body reacted to the sight of her. The flurry of emotions coursing across their link didn't help any. Scott gulped, then narrowed their connection to a trickle. Hopefully his smitten smile would let her know that he was glad to see her.
[Oona/Molly]
Date: 2007-02-28 11:26 pm (UTC)Oona had to force herself not to eat quickly. She was starving. She was pretty sure it was almost the truth. Her stomach felt more than empty, and other than her injuries, she was a bit shaky, like she hadn't eaten for a while. If she ate too quickly she may well be sick.
She didn't point out that those with magical talents could be affected by psychics, as neither Frank nor Michelle seemed affected.
"I have no idea how I know that." Oona added. I think a trip outside to see if any of us have special abilities might be a good idea."
Molly nodded. "Outside does seem the best idea," She looked pointedly at the table sticking out of the wall, "but lets all try not attempting telepathy, kay?"
Molly waved Ami over. "Pitch in at cleanup and you get a meal. Many hands and all that."
(OOC: Is hunt at the breakfast table or sitting separately?)
[George/"Millie"]
Date: 2007-03-01 12:09 am (UTC)The protest died before it really got started. She was the only person who had seen the Frenchman. The only person who could hear the Frenchman. The Frenchman who could pass through other people and walls like they weren't there. Hard to argue that the odd girl out is the only who's normal.
"Fuck," Millie said, pushing her eggs around on her plate before taking a bite. "That's creepy."
[Molly/Oona]
Date: 2007-03-01 02:21 am (UTC)"There's nothing wrong with being a medium, Millie. It might be a bit out of the ordinary, but not unheard of. It's not like you're collecting souls for personal gain or anything." Pearl felt a shiver ripple through her. She wasn't sure why.
"So far it seems most people here have something unique they can do, or some other talent that could come in handy. It's likely we're all here because of it. I'm just not certain we're here willingly." Pearl ran her fingertips over her skirt, feeling the throbbing pain and the bandage that covered it. She was a little afraid to know.
Pearl looked to Veronica. "How did you find this place from the forest? Was there a trail of some sort, or were you just wandering?"
[Ami]
Date: 2007-03-01 02:26 am (UTC)Forcing one foot in front of the other, Ami made her way to the table. She put the memories of some of the more . . . sensitive … passages out of her mind. There was an empty seat beside Scott, and she widened her gaze and her smile to include May and the curly red head with –
(Pointed ears.)
/Yeah, uh, don't stare. No one's commented on it,/ Scott's immediate reply told Ami that she hadn't been as quiet with the thought as she believed. "I made you a plate," Scott continued aloud as he pushed it in front of her.
"Thank you," Ami said sincerely. She smiled at the girl/woman who'd invited her, "I'll still do clean up to earn my breakfast, though."
She was hungrier than she thought. Ami had already shoveled two large forkfuls in her mouth when she realized that she was solely focused on her food and not the strangers around her. She was pretty certain that was rude on a number of levels. Ami tried to pull her attention to the conversation around her, but then she shifted and her leg brushed Scott's. That derailed any train of thought she might have had and she focused more intently on eating, albeit at a slower rate.
"You're eating, that's a good sign," Pointy Ears said. "Havin' an appetite is always a good indication of recovery.
Ami tried to recall her name, and failed. /Do you know her name?/ Ami prompted Scott.
/Molly,/ Scott informed her.
"Just needed a spot of rest is all," Ami said. The dubious looks she received and the slight waffle from Scott made her curious. She decided not to ask. /I found out some things,/ Ami 'told' Scott. /We were in an aeroplane wreck. All of us./
/What?!/ Scott's surprise and shock flowed into her. Amazingly, they both kept eating at the same pace without giving a sign that anything was amiss.
/I wanted to tell you first,/ Ami took another bite and looked around the table. "I, um, have a journal that I found. We're all the survivors of an aeroplane crash. That's why we're here."
Except that wasn't exactly true. They weren't *all* the survivors of the crash. Someone named Faith came on a private plane, and a pair by the name of *The Doctor* and Rose came in on some kind of ship that wasn't a boat at all, and she'd figured out who Ripley was from her encounter with the screaming girl earlier.
/We didn't all come in on the aeroplane,/ Ami added to Scott. /I'll tell you more later./
Including the parts she wasn't going to share with the room at large – the unbelievable parts about Smoke Monsters and psychic Neanderthals.
Re: [Molly/Oona]
Date: 2007-03-01 02:48 am (UTC)Millie had said something to her, and she just nodded as a reply. It had something to do with cleanup detail or something, she figured she could do that.
Finally she snapped out of it and looked at the woman addressing her now. "What? Oh I don't...I think I was just wandering I guess."
[Oona]
Date: 2007-03-01 02:56 am (UTC)The dark skinned woman, and Pearl was instantly jealous of said skin, announced that they were all in a plane crash.
That might explain her bandages... arms, legs and abdomen... but her injuries felt precisely placed, mirroring each other.
"How long ago was this? Shouldn't more people be hurt?"
