Who: Chloe Sullivan
Where: The Bunker (specifically, the cafeteria/kitchen)
When: Day 28, mid-afternoon (after A Crash and New Arrivals)
Invited: All and sundry!
Status: Complete
Chloe led the parade back to the bunker. The two new arrivals continued to banter--bicker?--like an old married couple, or at least old friends. They didn't appear to remember anything more about themselves than anyone else did, but the relationship seemed obvious in the familiar way they interacted. Occasionally John spoke English, but just as often they spoke a language that sounded like none Chloe had ever heard.
Mad Chris spoke it, though. And so did Ami, apparently. Chloe was feeling severely American, since she spoke--as far as she knew--only English. (But how many languages did I need living in the middle of Kansas anyway?) Chloe thought. It didn't help much. She hated being out of the loop--and not speaking Japanese, or this new one, didn't help.
Nobody had yet mentioned what that language was, either. She'd have to ask one of them about it.
As she walked, Chloe glanced down at her left hand. She'd burned it on the still very hot exterior of the shuttle--and watched as the bright red burn had faded to nothing in moments. Just like the small cut she'd gotten earlier. She thought about the note she'd written in her journal earlier: It's official--I'm a Meteor Freak!
Before Rodney had hacked into her laptop for her, that had meant nothing to Chloe. Now, having read her own files, she understood. She'd changed during her stint here on the island. Her eyes, her appearance, and her ability to heal. (Did my personality change?) Chloe wondered. It seemed possible, even likely, based on what she'd written about others affected by the meteorites--the "Kryptonite" she had in her possession. When she got her memory back would she recognize herself?
It was an uncomfortable question, and Chlow was happy to see the bunker just ahead. She banged on the door. After a minute it opened. "Guess what? More new faces!" Chloe announced.

Date: 2007-03-26 02:52 pm (UTC)Furious yapping bark filled the room as a small Golden Reciever puppy apparently decided John Chrichton was a fun new toy. Oorie growled at his boot even as her entire back end wagged to try to keep up with her tail.
“I think she may want to roll in you. Not a ringing endorsement.” Rose winked before scooping up the wriggling puppy.
"Come on Erin. I'll show you where you can clean up." Molly gestured for the tall woman to follow her.
"That's Molly, and she wants you to follow her to the showers where you can get clean," the Doctor clarified for the dark haired pilot, who apparently had little to no grasp of English.
OOC : Sorry

Date: 2007-03-26 03:36 pm (UTC)Aeryn looked at John's hurt expression and was instantly abashed that she'd caused such pain in his blue eyes. She blinked, then looked away as a memory of holding him while he cried came forward. No, this really wasn't the time.
"I'm sorry, I guess I shouldn't have tried that" she muttered. The apology didn't come easily, almost as if she wasn't used to making them. However, she had felt compelled to do so this time.
Rose: "You look like you might fit some of Ripley's pants, but not her tops... I'll loan you one of mine. Might spare you the hell of scrubs."
Aeryn nodded gratefully. "These clothes smell like they've been in the digestive tract of a Budong for a year!" she explained. "So, yeah, it would be great to get clean. Thank you Rose."
“I’ll show her the showers. I need to use them too.” Molly volunteered, moving next to Rose. The tiny redhead had dirt smudges playing connect-the-freckles and had tree bark and leaves stuck in her braided hair. She was also grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Just as Aeryn was about to comment, the Doctor chimed in.
"That's Molly, and she wants you to follow her to the showers where you can get clean," the Doctor clarified for the dark haired pilot, who apparently had little to no grasp of English.
Aeryn smiled at the funny man, then her eyes turned a little harder. "I caught that" she said quietly "it's just speaking this frelling language that isn't working, for some reason only known to Hezmana."
She suddenly felt bad. The Doctor had only been trying to be kind. "Look, I'm sor..." she stopped, the word sticking in her throat this time. Sighing, she just used her eyes to convey the thought she couldn't quite bring herself to voice.
She found herself thinking ~What in the name of Hezmana am I? Some sort of heartless tralk?~
