Aeryn sat comfortably leaning against John, listening to his steady breathing as they rested in each others' arms. Finally, she sighed, then moved, the leather of her jacket rubbing against leather making a loud noise in the quiet of the room. "I think we should go and try to find the Doctor, John. Surely if they haven't found a solution yet, he can be spared to discuss other things?"

They'd both been reluctant to interrupt the Doctor when he'd started to help translate the books that had been brought in, but Aeryn hadn't really been able to settle yet. "What do you think?"

John's look and faint shrug of the shoulders meant 'Up to you' and Aeryn's faintly angry look said 'you're a pain!'

Aww! I love how you and [livejournal.com profile] magicalelf describe their non-verbal communication. :)

OOC: Heh! ~Grins~ Didn't think you'd mind, sis! Nope! Don't mind at all! We work well together, you & I :)

John frowned a little and tilted his head to the side as he listened to Rose explaining about their own ship and everything it was capable of doing. "Whoa wait ... hang on a second, let's back up for just a moment," he said, holding a hand up. "When you say that this place is ... six months ahead of regular time ... you mean ... literally? We're ... literally six months in the future here?"

The thought made him instantly sick to his stomach. Six months. Anything could have happened to P'au in six months. He closed his eyes, trying to gain control of his raging thoughts. "Does ... that mean that everything outside of this ... temporal soap bubble is ... six months in the past?"

He opened blue eyes again to stare hard at Rose. He wanted more explanations than that.

Rose had started to speak now, though and something she'd said caught her attention. "Six months? How long is that?"

John looked away from Rose and over at Aeryn. "Half a cycle," he said quietly to her.

John went to one knee in front of the chair Aeryn was sitting in and reached out to cup her face, needing that connection with her, needing her to see and hear him. He looked into her dark eyes, "We're only frelled if we believe that we are, Aeryn," he said quietly, keeping his voice low and firm. He felt like he was being torn apart on the inside, but he wouldn't let any of that show in his voice. "You're right, I am the mathematician, and I'll work with the Doctor to find out the point in time that we vanished, as closely as I can. I may be off by a couple of days, but that's better than a couple of months," he gave her a small, quirky grin. He leaned in and kissed her brow before pushing to his feet again.

He turned blue eyes to Rose, "When can I talk to him? Mister Man. The Doctor?"
