Hurley slipped away from the others and their discussion and proceeded to join Jin, who was muttering to himself and seemed unhappy that he had been left to fish alone...
"Help ya, Dude?" Hurley motioned using a net himself.

He knew how it felt to have people yell at him for being clumsy and treat him like he was stupid. But why Charlie had to pick a fight *all* the time was beyond him.
"C'mon, dude, he was just sayin' 'be careful'. Even *I* could tell that. Don't sweat it."
[Charlie] Baiting (tag Hurley, Sawyer, open)
Date: 2006-03-22 05:32 pm (UTC)Somehow his brain had connected "pain" to "great" in more ways than one, namely that a fight would give him the chance to let rip with more than just his voice and if he got hurt (which he was kind of looking forward too) the doctors wouldn't have any reason not to give him painkillers. Lots of them, hopefully. Something to take him back to la-la land for a little while, long enough to be able to come back down to Earth and feel normal between highs. That's all he needed: time out from the world, whichever fucked up way he could get it.
On the other hand he could just get knocked out, which was just as good. Sweet oblivion.
He waved off Hurley's concern before sneering at Sawyer, jogging about on his feet like a boxer warming up. "I'll have you know that I'm a master of King-Wan! Oh yes. Seen Enter the Dragon far too many times as well."
Stretching his arms above his head, Charlie performed the obligatory crane impression - complete with mocked up sound effects, which seemed to enrage Jin more than the fouling up of his catch.
Oh yeh.
Charlie grinned maliciously, betting himself that he'd get four or five shots in before Jin outclassed him - though a small portion of his mind was quivering with fear. The smile slipped momentarily before he dropped into what his addled mind considered to be a martial arts fighting stance and reached out one arm to beckon Jin towards him just like Morpheus had Neo in The Matrix.
"Bring it on."
Re: [Hurley] Well, Crap! (tag open)
Date: 2006-03-22 05:42 pm (UTC)"Shit," he muttered...and went for it.
He raced forward and hurled himself at Charlie, throwing the smaller man into the sand and landing on top of him!

Date: 2006-03-22 06:36 pm (UTC)[Charlie] Well, Crap! (tag open)
Date: 2006-03-22 06:38 pm (UTC)His one working ear - the other being jammed into the sand - told him that Sawyer was chortling away in the distance and Sun was talking rapidly to Jin, probably trying to calm him down. No! No no no no.. Charlie writhed about, ignoring Hurley's attempts to get him to hold still and general calls to "calm the hell down, dude." He eventually seized on the idea that he might be able to headbutt Hurley and get his pain that way, but it didn't work - the angle was too far out of line and Hurley spotted him coming a mile off, ducking away with plenty of time and space to spare.
Eventually he simply gave up, all the frustration draining from his body as the adrenalin ran out. Crap crap crap crap crap. What was the point, really? What was the point of any of this?
"Could someone just shoot me? Please?"

Date: 2006-03-23 04:05 pm (UTC)Lucy approached from the side then, shaking her head like she was disappointed in him or something. "Pull your head in, Charlie."
"I'll pull my bloody head in when I bloody want," he sulked as he watched Jin start checking his nets, all glares blocked by Sun's carefully placed back. Turning to Hurley, he set his jaw and scowled. "Don't you start neither. I've had enough of this place."
Re: [Hurley] I've Had It! (tag open)
Date: 2006-03-23 07:09 pm (UTC)He tried, he really tried, to just...let it be.
But he couldn't.
Before he even realized he was doing it, he clutched Charlie by the collar, bunching his shirt into both hands, and yelled into his face:
"Ok, listen here, you little twerp! You think you're the only one that's had enough? DO YOU? Well you're NOT! There are a whole lot of OTHER people on this island, dude, that DON'T wanna be here! So GET OVER YOURSELF! Or next time, I'll let somebody kill you like you want!!"
And with that he threw Charlie back onto the sand and lurched away, moving as quickly down the beach away from the others as he could...
