With fewer people in the tunnel, Daniel turned his full attention to the pillar before him. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, wishing for a notebook. Taking several deep breaths, he called upon the Kel'no'reem breathing exercises he learned from Teal'c and relaxed his mind. Although he lacked memories or knowledge of what happened when he was Ascended, there were times when he was able to touch some deep part of his subconscious and call forth feelings or awaken subconscious knowledge. This time Daniel hoped that he was calling forth Ancient knowledge. After a few moments, he opened his eyes to find Jon and Jack staring at him intently.
"Are you done with the zen meditation there, Daniel?" Jon asked.
"Kel'no'reem, Jon. And yes, it helps me focus." He looked between Jack and Jon and rubbed his forehead. "Really, it does help."
"I've heard good things about meditation," Jack smirked. "It does wonders for the mind and the body."
"Sorry, Jack, I'm spoken for," Daniel grinned and then turned his full attention to the pillar. It was time to figure this puzzle out; even if it took all night. (And with our luck, it just might.)
"All right, anyone who's good at solving puzzles, it's time to solve this one," Daniel remarked. He glanced in the direction of George and Verlin . . . and did a double-take. Eyes widening, Daniel simply stared for a moment at the man standing next to George; the man who hadn't been there before or at least whom Daniel hadn't been able to see before.
(Ooookaaaaaaaaaay. Now I'm seeing ghosts too?)
"Um, George, just out of curiosity, what exactly does Verlin look like?"
