With things more or less, back to normal, Daniel resumed the briefing minus a few additional bodies. He knew that Molly was tending to Tara, and that May and Chris had presumably gone in that direction as well. Rodney was working on finding a way to dampen down Tara and hopefully the Doctor would be able to provide assistance in that endeavor as well. Faith was assigned to Isabel duty and he trusted that Molly and Chris would be able to keep an eye on May. As helpful as the young woman and the Winchester boys had been thus far, he still wasn't ready to lower his guard completely.
"So, who wants to go back to the beach and who wants to drop in on Camp Serenity?" Daniel asked. They'd made watch rotas, decided on whom was going to take inventory of what rooms and how to reorganize. A preliminary claim to rooms had been made, although there were still some rooms free and empty, and some people were indecisive. By unspoken, but somehow mutual decision, Daniel, the Doctor, Blaise, Jon and Locke had decided that the four new arrivals – Dean, Sam, May and Isabel – would not be left alone until they were sure of them. The Doctor had implied in last night's meeting in the control room that the first three so far hadn't seemed to lie to them and seemed trustworthy, but better to err on the side of caution. Once they delved into DHARMA's computer files, they'd have more information.
"It would probably be a good idea to send the jeep to the beach, and take advantage of more … extraordinary means … to get to Serenity," Daniel added. "I'm sure that people will want some of their personal items brought back from the beach and the caves, and the jeep has cargo space."

[Daniel] Fine, Let's Move (open tag)
Date: 2006-08-28 05:57 pm (UTC)(Unless she got outside,) Daniel thought then shoved the thought aside. That wasn't one that he wanted to consider. He still didn't think that Claire could get far, but there was no way of knowing how much of Dharma might be waiting outside in the jungle.
"Everyone be sure to keep up," Daniel said, but his gaze lingered particularly long on Damon.
"Yeah, whatever, I won't be holding us up, trust me," the red head remarked.
[Mayday] Knock, knock... (tag Chris, Daniel, open)
Date: 2006-08-28 06:07 pm (UTC)If she had any doubts before, they were long gone; these people - Dharma or whatever - were lunatics who had to be stopped.
As the groups split up, she, Sam and George followed Daniel down the hallway and through the security door. May suddenly remembered something as Daniel approached the first door. "Wait a sec. Chris and Molly and Tara are in there."
"And that means Claire isn't?"
"No, but -" She sighed. "Argh. Chris is working out what's wrong with them, and barging in would be very, very bad. Hang on." May knocked quickly on the door. "Chris? It's me! Claire's gone missing; is it safe to come in?"
Redirect, kind of, sort of...

She followed the others out of the room to start searching.
[Megabyte] That Was a Little Too Easy (tag Claire, Locke, Kenzaki, Dean, Isabel, open)
Date: 2006-08-28 07:05 pm (UTC)He grimaced as he brushed against the door, but forced himself to ignore it. "John, can you cover the rear?" Megabyte paused and looked at Kenzaki, "Kenzaki-san, Daniel-san says that you're with us."
Kenzaki looked at him in surprise, Megabyte pretended not to notice. (Explain how you can speak Japanese later. Find Claire now.)
He led the way out of the kitchen, proud that he didn't stagger and the only sign of his pain was the stiffness of his back and the way he carefully didn't move his arm or shoulder. This was Claire; he didn't have time for pain.
(Which way?) He wondered. With a sigh, he dropped his shields and felt for her. Combined with the pain he was feeling and the psychic aftermath of Boone's shooting spree, that did make him waver on his feet and he grabbed the wall for support. The thoughts and emotions of everyone were swirling around and it took him a moment to find Claire – and the baby – muddled in all of it.
Snapping his shields back, he turned left and eased along the wall to the laundry room. Megabyte glanced back over his shoulder, fortunately not his injured one, but still the sudden movement made him hiss with pain. He met John's eyes and indicated the laundry room door.
"Short search," John remarked quietly. Despite his voice there was concern and wariness etched in the man's face.
"Claire," Megabyte twisted the knob, not at all surprised that the door was locked. He put as much empathy into his voice as he could as he concentrated on unlocking the lock telekinetically. His voice was soothing, comforting, warm. "Claire, it's me. It's Damon. It's all right. Everything's all right now."

Date: 2006-08-28 10:36 pm (UTC)"Claire, it's me. It's Damon. It's all right. Everything's all right now."
She sniffed and lifted her head, listening. It certainly sounded like him.. and she really wanted to believe that it was. "Damon?"
"That's right - mind if I come in?"
"Everything's really ok? What were the gunshots?" Claire asked, wiping away a couple of tear tracks as she hurriedly disentangled herself from the nest of blankets. She was going to have to open the door for him, she realised, what with the dryer in the way. "I heard screaming - it sounded awful!"
Her foot touched something cold. Shit, the glass! I can't leave that on the floor!
Claire bent down gently, feeling for the item gently - she really didn't want to slice her fingers open, not with everything else in her body rebelling after the last few days - glad to find it quickly and safely. She straightened quickly, placing the sharp object on a shelf.. oh dear, head rush.
Taking a step to one side, Claire tried to steady herself against one of the washing machines. Success was limited: the machine wobbled on a broken leg, split floor tile, it didn't really matter - Claire found herself moving in yet another direction, then shrieked as she caught her foot in a blanket and landed hard on the floor.
"Claire?" Damon called through the door, rattling the knob and knocking loudly. "Are you ok?"
Pissed off beyond belief, Claire swore a blue streak. She might have landed on her backside rather than her front, but it hurt like a bastard - and so did her ankle.
"No, I'm not bloody ok - I've bloody well gone and sprained my ankle, and there's a bloody dryer blocking the door because I was a paranoid idiot!"

Date: 2006-08-28 10:59 pm (UTC)"Claire? Are you okay?" He rattled the knob.
"No, I'm not bloody ok - I've bloody well gone and sprained my ankle, and there's a bloody dryer blocking the door because I was a paranoid idiot!"
Megabyte felt the shock of the others around him from her words. "A dryer?"
"Yes a bloody dryer!"
"You moved a –" Megabyte shook his head and smiled a bit. (The woman thinks she's invincible, I swear.) The door was still locked, though.
"Okay, Claire, move away from the door, and the dryer. I'm coming in," Megabyte said.
"How're you –"
"He's got a little bit of help on the outside, Claire," Locke called out, giving Megabyte a knowing nod.
Megabyte nodded in return and telekinetically picked the lock. That was the easy part – and it was fortunate that the laundry room was one of the few rooms in this place that didn't have the security locks. He heard the lock click. "It's unlocked."
As he went to lean against the door, Locke's hand on his arm stopped him. "Let Dean and I do the pushing. You need to rest that wound of yours. You haven't even got it stitched yet."
"I didn't have time for stitches, John," Megabyte groused.
"I didn't say that you did." There was a measure of understanding in the older man's eyes, making Megabyte feel a bit bad for the sharpness of his words.
He stepped up to the door, lowering his voice so that Claire wouldn't hear it. "I wasn't actually planning on pushing, you know. I just need to get the door open enough to see where Claire is."
"Well then, I guess we better make it look good," John returned with a half-smile.
The three men pushed the door a bit, enough to slide the dryer, which should have been easy for three men when it was moved by one pregnant lady, but somehow seemed more difficult. Either Claire had been operating on adrenaline or something was wedged beneath it. Not that it mattered, through the crack he could see Claire, huddled in the corner, and significant distance between her and the dryer.
"Push," Megabyte ordered John and Dean. As they did, he telekinetically shoved the dryer across the floor, dragging whatever was wedging it in place right along with it.
With enough of an opening to fit through – the dryer was now wedged into the room at an odd angle – Megabyte hurried to Claire's side. He gave her a warm, affectionate smile and smoothed her hair with his good arm, "Now I know who to call when I need to move furniture."
OOC: On with the show . . .

Date: 2006-08-28 11:21 pm (UTC)He turned to see where Isabel was. Making sure she was always within his sight. "So, shall you take her back tot he cafeteria while the rest of us continue with a sweep of the place?"

Date: 2006-08-29 12:18 am (UTC)She looked over at Damon, smiling reflexively when he did and leaning into his touch without really thinking about it. Ok so she felt like crap, but maybe she should give it another go, not least because this floor was cold and hard. Beckoning to Locke, Claire tried to put a brave face on things.
"How 'bout the two of you give me a hand up? I know I must weigh a tonne these days, but I'm only little, honest - ohmygodDamonyou'rebleeding!"
"It's ok, nothing to worry about," he assured her quickly.
"But he should be resting it," Locke continued dryly, which didn't do much for Claire's concern. "Dean, could you give me a hand?"
The other guy - Claire remembered him vaguely from the cafeteria yesterday - looked back and forth from Locke to someone outside the room. She heard a muffled "don't move" before he stepped forward and she caught sight of an unfamiliar blonde around her own age. Wow, the list of strays is getting bigger every day.. maybe we've finally found another Aussie, or at least someone less self-absorbed than Shannon.
"Uh, hi?" she waved tentatively, wondering why the girl was staring at her like she'd seen an extremely unwelcome ghost.
OOC: and now I'm afraid that it's time for bed.. sorry.. :)
