Who: Tara, May, Molly, Ami, River, Chris, Faith, Daniel, anyone else
Where: Medical Facility
When: Day 22, late afternoon
Invited: Open
Status: Complete
ooc: not sure who's all going. so if the list Tara tells Daniel doesn't include you and you want to go, just post a walk-in.
The ladies went to the cafeteria where they began to gather some simple supplies for their journey. Daniel happened to be there getting some coffee and chatting with Chris. Tara approached the two, trying to walk without using the tables and chairs for support. She had indeed finished the rest of her sandwhich and an extra banana. It made her overfull to eat that much right now, but Molly was right, she needed fuel. she could feel the physical energy coursing through her body as she digested the food. She just wished she could feel the same about her magical energy. "Daniel, Molly, May, Faith, and myself are taking a short trip. Hopefully, with the help of a teleporter (she hoped Chris would be amenable). We need to head South and East of here to find some ley lines. I believe the ley lines will help me get my magic back." She sat down next to them, knowing standing wasn't in her best interest right now.

[Chris] Count me in
Date: 2006-10-21 11:16 pm (UTC)If he had a map, he could scry for the ley lines and not have a repeat of the embarassing accident that had revealed his Orbing ability to half the camp.
[Daniel] Maps I Can Do
Date: 2006-10-22 02:17 pm (UTC)[Faith] Personal Xerox Here
Date: 2006-10-22 02:33 pm (UTC)"I do have more going for me than a killer body, you know?"
Tara
Date: 2006-10-22 03:09 pm (UTC)She looked at the two men. "Yes, she can indeed do that well. Thanks Chris, for scrying. That will make this alot easier!" With a side look at Faith, she finished before she sat down. "No comment on the killer body."
[Molly]
Date: 2006-10-22 03:14 pm (UTC)River had an amused look on her face. "Mother knows best." She sing songed.
River was still smiling when she moved to stand in front of Molly. "And the answer is yes. Ithaven't danced in a long time."
Molly tried to scowel at the girl, but was failing. "You know that can get very annoying."
"You worry about me, but think it is amusing." River half danced away from the group and paused at the door. "I will accompany your venture. I have more going for me than my killer brain."
OOC:
Date: 2006-10-22 03:15 pm (UTC)[Mayday]
Date: 2006-10-22 04:46 pm (UTC)There was superstition, and then there was being stuck on an island that was Murphy's Law incarnate.
"You know I'm in," she added, looking up from the cabinet she was rummaging through. "Is there anything we're going to need besides the usual provisions?"
Tara
Date: 2006-10-22 05:12 pm (UTC)"Wait one minute there, woman. What do you think you are doing?" Molly asked when she saw Tara trying to get up.
"I'm hungry again." Tara was beginning to feel so tired, she couldn't even try to argue with Molly.
"Fine, then you sit there sweet cheeks and let us get something for you." Faith said in response. Tara just sat there and watched them go to the kitchen.
"May, there is something we'll need. It's nothing special. At midnight, You alone gather 2 Eucalyptus berries, dry them in an oven at 300 degrees for *exactly* 4 minutes. While thinking of 5 different times when you've been healed by others from being sick or injured. If you've done it right, you will no longer smell the fragrance from the berries. There's a tree right out back, so you don't have to wander far or into dangerous territory. In my room, there's a backpack. down at the bottom is a stone. Polished black shot through with white quartz veins. I've imbued the stone with a little magic a few weeks back. Consider it a battery. If you do this with the stone in your hand the entire time, the magic will work automatically. No incantations needed. The intent is simple, the berries will become goodberries...able to heal minor sicknesses or injuries. Mostly, I'll use them to give me strength tomorrow. I think I'll need it. Would you mind doing it for me? I'd ask Molly, but I think she's got plans tonight."
[Ami]
Date: 2006-10-22 05:16 pm (UTC)[Ash] Horning In
Date: 2006-10-23 06:07 am (UTC)"Besides," he added with a grin, "the scenery should be terrific."
[Tara]
Date: 2006-10-23 01:54 pm (UTC)[Mayday]
Date: 2006-10-23 09:30 pm (UTC)She wrote down the instructions as Tara repeated them. Exact as anything, but possible; it wouldn't be hard to think of five times someone had fixed up her injuries. "I can do it, I've got a late perimeter sweep anyway, but I've got no idea what a eucalyptus bush looks like," she admitted.
The stranger who walked in and volunteered his services was apparently one of the survivors she hadn't met yet, and Tara's comment about zombies made her blink and look up. Another demon hunter? Huh. "Hey, I don't think we've met," she greeted, "I'm May."
((OOC: If they have met, tell me and I'll repost; May's not as out-of-it as I am today. But I don't think she has met Ash.))
Tara
Date: 2006-10-23 11:21 pm (UTC)"Yes, but then I need to go to sleep."
"That can be arranged." Molly responded.
gonna leave this open, but will make a new post for the trip tomorrow in case anyone has any last things to add, or wants to join.
[Ash] Introductions
Date: 2006-10-23 11:36 pm (UTC)"I'm Ash. Ash Williams. Pleased to meet you."
Tara
Date: 2006-10-24 01:55 am (UTC)Ash and the others look very concerned. Ash turned to her and reached out, unfortunately making the naseau stronger and Tara almost vomited right then and there before she got it under control. "You never said you were a necromancer!" Tara looked at him with disgust.
[Ash] Say what?
Date: 2006-10-24 02:22 am (UTC)He studied Tara for a moment, wondering what had set her off so suddenly. There was nothing about his artificial hand that ought to be bothering her. It didn't make any sense to him.
But she was definitely glaring at him...when she didn't look like she was about to hurl. "What's got your panties in a bunch?"
OOC: Just a reminder--Ash has a modern prosthetic hand now, not the iron and leather contraption he built (with the blacksmith's help) in Army of Darkness. Of course, considering how much time he spent dealing with the Necronomicon* and the Evil Dead, the stink of necromancy isn't surprising.
*P.S. Ash's "gift" from the box of stuff was a page torn from the Necronomicon on which he had scrawled a girl's phone number--hey, it was all he could find to write on at the time.... He doesn't have it on him, but it's around somewhere.
[Tara] god you stink
Date: 2006-10-24 02:58 am (UTC)IC:Tara wished desperately that she had her magic so she could focus on him and make sure he wasn't hiding anything. when she first met him she of course checked his aura...Not the brightest aura she'd ever encountered, but certianly nothing that had caused her any real concern. There were those who were capable of hiding their aura, but she didn't *think* he was one of those. (Well, best he come along tomorrow, then.) She'd check him out more fully when/if she got her powers back. And if she didn't get her powers back, and he was evil...nothing she could do about it anyway.
"I'm...I'm sorry. It's just your arm. Where it ends. Necromancy was involved and you were directly responsible for it. It smells...stinks. I didn't notice earlier. It caught me off guard. Necromancy is a disgusting warping of magic and the natural circle of life. Earth-based witches such as myself are particularly sensitive to it. What happened?" The smell was fading. (Just a mental after image after all) Tara thought sadly.
[Ash] You're none too sweet yourself....
Date: 2006-10-24 03:25 am (UTC)He looked at Tara again. "Well, I'll tell you," Ash said, sitting down at the table. "Here's an important safety tip. If you ever visit a cabin in the woods--and by visit, I mean break into--and you find a tape recorder on which someone has translated ancient incantations for summoning demons...for God's sake don't turn it on!"
He glanced around at the others, then met Tara's eyes again. "To make a long story short--to the great relief of everyone here, I'm sure--my hand was possessed by one of those evil spirits. Like an infection. And the only way to stop it from spreading was to cut it off."
"So I did."
[Tara] You didn't?!?!
Date: 2006-10-24 11:10 am (UTC)"No wonder I smelled the necromancy on you. That was a major spell you cast. By sacrificing your limb, you did indeed effectively nullify the spell. Lucky all it took was your limb."
[Mayday] You didn't?!?!
Date: 2006-10-24 05:54 pm (UTC)"Hey, I'm a city girl," May said, grinning at Tara. "In Queens, survival skills amount to dodging muggers and stalking the wild cheeseburger."
She shook Ash's good hand, showing absolutely no surprise at the presence of the prosthesis - she noticed it, but it didn't even make her blink. It wasn't like she'd never seen one before. She idly wondered if he had to repair it as often as her Dad had to get his artificial leg fixed. Probably not, given why he usually had to get it repaired. "May Parker," she added, properly introducing herself. "Got dumped here a few days ago."
His story, however, did take her by surprise. The fact that he cut his own hand off struck her speechless for a second. The necromancy discussion went right over her head, but she did understand that Ash had stopped whatever it was by cutting the hand off. Still, it took a hell of a lot of guts to do something like that. "I'm still stuck at the part where you cut your own hand off," she admitted, alternately impressed and a bit weirded out.
Okay, maybe he was the type to need to get that hand repaired a lot.
[Ash] The hell I didn't!
Date: 2006-10-25 02:12 am (UTC)IC: "What can I say? I'm a manly man," Ash said to May with a big ole grin. Then he sobered a bit. "It helped that I...let's just say I was a couple of cans short of a sixpack by that time. It had been a long, tough, gruesome night. And it wasn't going to get better for a while."
He shook off the memories and drained his coffee cup, then placed it on the table. "I don't know anything about spells," he said to Tara. "If you say it was a spell, fine; all I know is desperate times called for desperate measures."
"So--what time is this shindig tomorrow?"
[Tara]
Date: 2006-10-25 04:11 am (UTC)"Hmm, I'd say let's get an early start, but I know I need sleep" Tara yawned yet again. "How about 9 am? Faith, can you make sure I get up?"
"Sure, but it might not be till 9:30." Tara went to protest, but knew it was futile. They'd wake her up when they were good and ready to get her up. She did need the sleep.
"Help me to the bedroom? I'm not sure I can make it on my own. I'm so tired."
