Ami… and the blue eyes blonde sounded like Daisy, but he hadn’t seen Rose. Was that good or bad?

“I can see the past and the future. I can see the possibilities, but only in generalities. Rarely specifics. Specifics can be mutable, if you don’t already know of a certainty how things should end. But you’ve given us something to be prepared for. At least one of them having to be carried out.” The Doctor had to grin at the confused look Sam gave him.

“I’m a Time Lord. You might say Time is my specialty. You may be able to pick up on the strongest of future possibilities. But it isn’t set, not for you, until you’ve lived it. Unless, you’re dreams are remote viewings, meaning they’re happening now. In which case we can’t change it. And I’m most likely not making any sense to you.”

He kept rotating his shoulder, stretching out the muscles until they burned.

By ten the more sensitive noses among them could actually smell the burnt wood. By eleven, Scott announced they were at the place he and Damon had found.

Something here felt wrong. It crackled to his senses, one of those past what humans could feel. The Doctor took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

“There’s another time disruption close by. One that’s maintained. They’re playing with fire, a time bubble within a time bubble. They’re flirting with a complete temporal collapse. That would be bad. Very, very bad.” They were like children playing with weapons. Eventually they’d kill themselves. But how many would they take with them due to their arrogance.

He opened his eyes. He didn’t need his screwdriver for this. Not when he could feel the source. “This way.”

Blaise cut them short. "Doctor, the others have the burning tree behind them, and they found tire tracks."

"Then they're to our left." The Doctor had led the way to the top of a short hill. "And I 'm willing to wager those are the tracks." He pointed to the rutted trail below.

May was only half listening to the Doctor, constantly scanning the horizon for any movement. They were out in the open, she couldn't get up high, and the ground "interference" was actually getting worse. Maybe time bubbles affected spider-sense? She didn't know, but the words "complete temporal collapse" didn't make her feel any better.

Wait. The interference wasn't getting worse in all directions. Just to her left. There was something there, something big she couldn't see, like a giant wall of trouble. It wasn't right by them, it was past the tree, but it was big and it was giving off a "don't touch me or you'll regret it" vibe that she could definitely detect.

She tapped the Doctor on his (good) shoulder, pointing in the direction of the sensation. "Um, that time bubble you mentioned? Is it in that direction, by any chance?"

She'd mentioned her "danger sense" in front of him already. Not like it was giving up anything new.

OOC: Given what happened to Damon, I figured the barrier wouldn't necessarily come off as harmless.

When the Doctor wavered on his feet, Scott jogged forward to check on him. By the time he got there Sam had helped steady the Time Lord. Molly and May stood nearby. "Doctor, what's wrong? Your shoulder?"

The Doctor flashed his manic grin. "Little more than a scratch, that." He nodded to the west. "There's another time bubble that way. Bein' in one and close to another is disconcerting." Clearly the Doctor had a gift for understatement.

May, the Doctor, and Sam set off toward the time bubble. Scott hung back for a few moments before following. Leaving his sphere in his pocket, Scott connected with it and reached out with his mind. Five people were a quarter mile to the west. Considering that they were near the tire tracks that Daniel's group had reported, Scott hoped it was them.

After dropping his connection with his sphere Scott loped forward to catch up with Sam, the Doctor, and May. "There are five people a quarter mile ahead. Should be the other group."

Okay, time bubbles and spider sense did NOT mix. May gave up trying to filter and tried to ignore the constant, irritating buzz of danger. Relying on her spider sense from here on out was probably not a good idea. Instead, she flanked the Doctor on the other side, just in case his vertigo made him an easier target. The interference was irritating, but it wasn't making her weak on her feet.

"Just five?" she asked. "I thought there were maybe twice that many in the other group."

"Maybe they split up," someone suggested. "Or maybe something's happened."

Despite his obvious discomfort, the Doctor continued to pick up the pace, and soon May thought she could make out a couple of figures in the distance. Hoping it was the other group and that they weren't walking into another trap, she continued to flank the Doctor, eyes searching the surrounding area for signs of an ambush.

Faith darted ahead, keeping to the shadows and trees as much as possible. Just because there hadn't been an ambush didn't mean that there wasn't one in the waiting. She moved with slayer grace and speed, no longer concerned with being flirtatious or seductive, wholly possessed by the predator that lurked within her.

Of course, there was no way to approach Daniel's team stealthily, not in broad daylight and not with so much open ground between them. Rather than rushing forward however, she settled for a cautious approach, her senses alert for any signs of danger *other* than what the Doc said about the time stuff.

She made a point of slowing and walking openly, only speeding up her trek when she saw Daniel turn in their direction and begin heading towards their group.

"'Sup?" Faith greeted him.

"Everyone all right?" Daniel inclined his head towards the rest of her group.

"Doc got taken out by a trap, but you probably know 'bout that. Otherwise, it's all five-by-five."

Daniel gave her a ghost of a smile, "Do you even know what that means?"

Faith smirked, "Do you?" She jerked her thumb back towards Daniel group, "What's the sitch? Shouldn't you have more people than that?"

"The 'sitch' is that Damon, Locke, George and Verlin all seemingly disappeared into thin air."

Jon overheard Daniel's latest news as he approached and suppressed a groan. The temptation to employ sarcasm was too much.

"Presumably not by any of the usually means?" he commented. "Bright lights, rings.. puff of smoke?"

"No, Jon."

Shrugging, he looked ahead to where the rest of Daniel's group was gathered. "Damn, I always wanted to see someone vanish in a puff of smoke.. McKay, what are you doing?"

"I'm utilizing my genius-level intelligence to investigate the strange energy field, what does it look like?"

"It looks like you're prodding the strange energy field with a stick," Jon smirked, making the scientist jump by speaking directly behind him. It was true: the man was waving half a bush over the point where the tracks halted. "Found anything useful yet?"

Rodney opened his mouth, then stopped when he pulled the branch "out" - the leaves were looking distinctly.. shriveled.

"Oh, Doctor.."

Scott jogged up to the rapidly growing group. He looked from Jon, to Daniel, then to McKay and the slightly withered branch in his hand. "Another time bubble?" Scott queried.

McKay sighed haughtily. "In layman's terms, yes. A more accurate..."

Scott tuned out the egocentric scientist. He'd heard all that he needed to know. Holding his sphere in his fist, Scott strode through the invisible barrier.

"Oh for cryin' out loud.." Jon groused, making a grab for Scott's bag as he headed through the.. thing.

The move came too late to stop the lovelorn psychic, but Jon's hand did vanish in a spectacularly silent kind of way. No loss of sensation, no flashy lights, no passing out - which he considered to be a major bonus - just.. gone. He wiggled all the fingers to make sure, but the only thing he could see was the ligaments in his wrist doing what they usually did, though it did feel kind of gloopy on the other side. A bit Stargate-y, only not. More like jello, actually.

"Do you mind?" McKay nagged from his side. "If you want some results you can get out of the way and let me do my job, because shooting people comes later."

Jon grimaced. He didn't like the fact that four people had vanished, but then neither did anyone else by the look of it, whether or not that seemed to be the most likely route to success as far as the girls were concerned.

"Fine -" he began to pull his hand back, then realized the energy field was now halfway to his elbow. "Hey, it moved!"

"No, it didn't," McKay observed. "You did. Still are." He paused, forehead creasing into a frown. "Try utilizing greater force from a more stable stance."

"Huh?"

"Tug harder."

Dubious, Jon waved apologetically to Daniel with his free hand and did as he was told.. only to find that in bracing himself for the maneuver he'd placed his ankle past the edge of the barrier as well. His bag wasn't doing too well either.

"Crap, this is like vertical quicksand. Gimme a hand, would ya McKay?"

"And get sucked into oblivion with you?!"

"McKay.."

"The things I do for your country.."

"I think the word you're looking for is 'planet?' And take some of your own advice: tug harder. Whoever ran your last physical must have skipped a few exercises -"

"Jon, what are you doing?" Daniel interrupted them. "I seem to remember something about not touching unexplained objects?"

"What, you're the only person allowed to vanish now?" he muttered irritably, nodding jerkily towards the drag track his left foot was making in the ground. "Being sucked into a wall of invisible jello is not my idea of fun."

"Are you old enough for that kind of entertainment?" Daniel commented, taking hold of his over-shoulder straps and joining in the fun.

Jon ignored the archaeologist pointedly. "Magnets. It has to be magnets. It's always magnets."

"What a ridiculous notion." Rodney let go of the teenager's free arm, retrieving his laptop and tapping manically. "Is anyone pulling you from behind?"

"I don't think so, and hello - still disappearing with a distinct lack of smoke here!" Jon grabbed Daniel's arm as his very nonstrategic withdrawal sped up, then dropped it as a lost cause, brushing off the remaining helping hands. Three out of four limbs had already passed through and there was no point in wasting the energy. "Forget it - see ya on the other side."

OOC: Jon will be joining Scott over there (http://community.livejournal.com/crossing_lostrp/91948.html?thread=3033900#t3033900)..

The second bubble had confused the dickens out of Tara. She didn't know it was there, so she didn't properly interpret what her special senses were telling her until it was too late. Wasn't exactly like she was used to reading that type of energy anyway.

In the end, she was just glad that everyone was together again. Safety in numbers.

"Molly!"

Safety with Molly.

She looked around the group, looking for Molly and studiously avoiding Sam. She had not had a chance to do anything about that, and it wasn't any better.

"Hey, Sammich, if this is a temporal bubble that moves time forward, then here's your big chance. You go first and you'd get to be the older brother for a change." Deam grinned big as he pushed his brother through.

Dean looked at May, "May, come on, don't let us have all the fun," and then stepped through himself. Couldn't let Sam be the older brother for long...

OOC: Sorry! Was home for all of 20 minutes then wound up visiting a friend late. May WOULD have jumped right in had I been around to post... :)

May took one more 'look" at the barrier, which was still making her senses scream. The one other experience she'd had with any kind of temporal displacement hadn't exactly been pleasant. "If I wind up getting hit on by a teenage version of Dad again..." she muttered before leaping through herself.

As Quentin watched the others pass through what was apparently some kind of time bubble, he couldn't help but be reminded of the room in the East Wing of Collinwood that led to Parallel Time. Unlike that phenomenon, there was no seeing what was on the other side. Quentin's concern about that fact was somewhat abated when the Doctor walked through with a singular purpose to his stride. /If he's not concerned, then I guess I'm not either,/ he thought to himself.

"Here goes nothing!" Quentin said to nobody in particular as he walked through the invisible barrier.

May thought she'd jumped in about the same time as Molly and Tara had, but she must have been a second slower since they looked like they'd been there for a few minutes already when she passed through. She landed on her feet, blinking. "Huh." Her spider-sense had stopped screaming, at least, and the group sitting there was just... hanging out, waiting for the rest. Everyone looked fine, albeit a bit bored.

She looked back to see the remaining group seemingly frozen in place. Daniel's face was fixed in a mildly irritated expression. "Well, that was anticlimactic."
